About | CURTIS, James W. "Jim" Passed away October 19, 2011. Born and raised in Spokane, he was a graduate of Lewis & Clark High School (where he was a touring member of Silver Spurs dancers) and Washington State University. Residing in Spokane, he was service manager for Northwest Microfilm and Abadan Reprographics, traveling a wide territory of Washington, Idaho, and Montana. He skated with an adult group in an Eagles Ice-Arena "Ice-a-delics" production and performed in two productions of "A Christmas Carol" directed by Dorothy Darby Smith at Spokane Civic Theatre. He was active in the parents' group supporting Mead High School's Marching Band. An Eagle Scout, he was always ready to help those in need and to pursue interests including camping, hiking, biking, and nature photography. He loved music, had a great sense of humor, respect for living creatures, and the talent to fix almost anything. Preceded in death by parents Franklin and Mildred, and brother David, he is survived by wife Candy; daughter and husband Sally and Eric Slippern; grandchildren Keira and Isaac; sister Kit McElroy, nephews and nieces. The family suggests remembrances may be made to the Spokane Humane Society. Private services will be held at a later date. Published by Spokesman-Review from Nov. 6 to Nov. 7, 2011. |
