About	Marsha Jo Klausler, 61, of Ojai succumbed to her third round of breast cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006. He husband, son, and daughter-in-law were at her side. Marsha was born Dec. 6, 1944, in Seattle and grew up in Spokane, Wash. She resided in Edmonds, Wash., and Cumberland, Md., before moving to Ojai with her husband in 1975. Marsha and her husband, Roger Klausler, attended Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, where they met; they were married on June 17, 1967. A graduate of Washington State University with a degree in elementary education and a minor in speech therapy, Marsha was a proud, lifelong Cougar. She loved children and taught preschool and kindergarten as well as first, second, and third grades for several schools in the Ojai Valley and in Maryland; in addition, she maintained a large collection of children's literature and illustrations. During her life, Marsha was described as kind, generous and thoughtful. Often she was commended for her bravery and courage during her fight over the past 15 years to overcome several limitations imposed upon her by her declining health. She was by nature a very social person who refrained from the Internet because she felt that it lacked a personal touch. She preferred to talk on the phone and was known for the lengthy, meticulous, handwritten letters that she sent to family and friends. Marsha was preceded in death by her daughter, Aimée Lynne Klausler, in April of 1987 at the age of 14; and by her parents, Ray and Clara Beernik. Marsha is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Roger Donald Klausler of Ojai; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Aaron and Chelsea Anne Klausler of Ithaca, N.Y.; and her siblings, Nancy Stempek of Salem, Ore., Jill Seamon of Arnold, Md., Douglas Beernik of Spokane, Wash., and Dan Beernik of East Falmouth, Mass.; in addition to numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Marsha's family extends a special thank you to Dr. Timothy Williamson and his nurses and staff and to Ojai Valley Community Hospital for the care, concern, and empathy they have unfailingly given to her throughout her life in the valley.
