About | Norman Lee Baker, 79, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Schneidmiller Hospice House, Coeur d'Alene, ID. He was born on November 21, 1943 in Spokane, Washington to Ivan and Marguerite Morfitt. Norm grew up in Spokane, WA and Baker, OR. He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1962. He had a VERY adventurous nature. He loved camping, boating, fishing, and traveling, especially "snowbirding" to Southern California and Arizona. He also enjoyed flying his plane and made every excuse possible to hang out at Felts Field. He was extremely independent and loved the construction industry. After starting his working career in construction at Dupree Building Specialties, he would venture out to own and operate numerous businesses, including Fryer Ford Building Specialties, Perm-A-Treat Wood Treating, Spokane Custom Wood Treating, and Renor Construction Services. After he retired, he worked part-time at Dupree for a few years. Norm is preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, Pam, and wife, Reta. He is survived by his life partner, Carol; sons, Don and wife Skip; Doug and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Alex, Haley, Connor, and Alexis; and great grandson, Jareth. He is also survived by sisters, Ann, Pat and husband Jan; several nephews, as well as extended family. Special thanks to the caring staff of Hospice. Donations may be made in Norm's honor to the Schneidmiller Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.
