About OBERST, Lenora "Dee" (Age 83) Spokane, WA – Dee passed peacefully on July 14, 2024, at the Hospice of Spokane’s Hospice House. Born May 20, 1941, to Roy and Georgie (Loucks) Vander Does. Dee is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jim Oberst; seven children: Tim Olmsted (Barb), Coeur d'Alene, ID, Tami Olmsted, Spokane Valley, WA, Todd Olmsted (Tara), Brandon, MS, Traci Minkler (Cam), Spokane, WA, Kevin Oberst, Spokane, WA, Julie Whetzel (Oberst), Spokane, WA, and Toni Graham (Ron), Colville, WA; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kathy Payton (Ron), Spokane, WA, Kari Harris, Issaquah, WA, and Fay Virene (Ralph), Spokane Valley, WA; brother-in-law, Frank Oberst (Luanna), Spokane, WA; two dogs, Phred and Billie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and clients. Dee enjoyed traveling, it didn’t matter where she was heading, preferably by plane or motorhome. Her favorite things, outside of her family and friends, were reading, Christmas, sewing and quilting, camping in the mountains, her garden and flower beds, feeding her hummingbirds and other wildlife, cooking for the holidays, and watching old movies and television shows. She had seen every episode of Perry Mason, at least once. She was well-known for her love of Nutcrackers, she had over 200 in every style, color, and size, proudly displayed throughout the house every year. Dee was a Cosmetologist (hairdresser) for 52 years, she loved her profession and her clients. Dee retired in March 2024.
