Davida was born in Spokane on September 21, 1943 to Clarence and Hazel Johnson, the second of five children. She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1961. She married William Daves of Waterproof, Louisiana, an airman at Fairchild Air Force base, in 1965 . She followed him to a station in Japan where her first son Thomas was born. Returning to the Northwest she lived at various times in Seattle and had son Aaron. She always came back to Spokane to be near family. She worked for 30 years at local hospitals as a data processor. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband William and brother Ed Johnson. Davida had a heart for the poor and dispossessed and spent her life in service to those less fortunate than she. Informed by her deep love of the Lord she was an active member of the Mountain View Assembly of God. She started Ypoc soup kitchen and clothing ministry in Hillyard, while volunteering at numerous charities over the years. Her memory will be cherished by the many that she helped in her quiet way. She could be relied on to give unselfishly of her time and resources to anyone who needed her. Her love was unconditional for family, friends and those she barely knew. She abounded in deeds of kindness and charity. She loved with the love of Jesus. She will be missed by all who knew her.
