She attended Pacific Lutheran University and graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington. She began her Physical therapy career at Children's Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle. Margie and Jeff were married in Spokane December 28th 1965. In 1967, they moved to Minneapolis where Margie was a physical therapist at Deaconess Hospital. Their 3 biological children were born there. In 1978, they moved to Houston, Texas. In 1981 they adopted 3 children. The family moved to Washington D.C. in 1984 and were there until 1993 when they moved to Kirkland, Washington. In 2009, Margie was rear ended in a car accident and appeared to have a concussion. Later work up showed that she was cognitively impaired. In late 2013, they moved to Chandler, Arizona to be closer to Erik and Mary. With the unselfish and gracious care of a number of caregivers, Margie's life was extended until August 20, 2021.

Margie was an extraordinary athlete, accomplished flautist, wonderful mother and a beloved grandmother known to some as Bama. She was a devout Christian and an amazing wife. She was an inveterate fisherman and taught her husband, children and many grandchildren how to fish. She loved flowers and was an outstanding and devoted gardener. Most of all, she is remembered by family and friends as the most kind and gentle person they have ever known. Her glacial melting smile will be missed by all. Rest in Peace, Dear Margie.
