About	Robert D. Somes Jr. was surrounded by loved ones when took his last breath on May 11, 2022 at the age of 80. Born February 17, 1942 in Longview WA, the family later moved to Spokane where he graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1959. Bob joined the Navy and served in the Bay of Pigs. He married Mary Rebecca Parsons and started a family in 1965. He opened an antique shop in downtown Spokane with his brother, David, called the Wooden Nickle in 1974. Later, he founded a high tech polo mallet manufacturing company called Vectra Polo while continuing to be a master restorer of fine antiques. Overall, he was a creative artist and inventor. Bob loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Becky Somes of 57 years. Bob is also survived by: his five children Kimberly Harris, Dan, Aaron, Buck, and Sarah Somes; grandchildren Blake, Brianna, and Max Harris, Colton, Clay, Payten, and Addy Somes, Keaton and Elliot Ream; great grandchildren Wally Harris, Rafael Jr. and Silas Magaña; siblings Patricia Cenis, Bernadette Bumpass, David Somes, Ann Salem; and many beloved nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of Bob’s long and happy life later this summer.
