Roger Martin Chacon (Marty) was born August 12, 1957 in Ogden, Utah to Abel Juan Chacon and Maria Eulalia Maestas. He took his final voyage on May 5, 2015 surrounded by family and friends.
Marty is survived by his beloved daughter Jamie (Travis) Kohler, grandson Kasey, granddaughter Violet, his mother Maria Chacon Ocana (Jose), his siblings Peggy Hopton (Walter), Larry Chacon (Carolyn), Connie Welch, Alyse Tafoya (Travis Davis), his cousin Jerry Romero (Sherry), nephews Derek Valdez, Solomon Chacon, Cody Tafoya, nieces Nicole Christen, Sonya Valdez and Crystal Painter. Marty had seven great-nephews and nieces and many friends and loved ones.
Marty was preceded in death by his father, Abel Juan Chacon.
Marty died from complications due to cancer.
Marty was an incredible human being with a fierce capacity to love. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He loved fishing, golfing, good music, dancing, cooking, the outdoors, sports, animals (his dog Frankie), and being with his family.
The world will not be the same without him. He will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege to know and love him. Vaya con Dios Martin!
