| About Me | After graduating high school, I attended KU for three years. Following my junior year, my husband Owen and I married and moved to CA where he was a Naval Officer. As a military family we moved frequently so I continued my college education at San Diego State and Cal State Northridge. After 5 years, Owen decided he wanted to go to law school, so it was back to Lawrence where I finally finished my undergraduate degree in elem. ed. at KU in 1977. We stayed in Lawrence for 23 years, where I taught at Schwegler Elementary and Owen commuted to KC where he practiced corporate law. During that time, I completed my Masters in Elementary Ed. In 2000 Owen had an opportunity to transfer to NJ where he was a lawyer for a pharmaceutical company. The move allowed us to retire in 2005 at which time we moved to New Mexico where we built a home in Sandia Park in the mountains between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
