I was drafted in 1964 and served two years in the U.S. Army. I received my basic training at Fort Ord, California. My advanced training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana as a Military Stenographer. In December of 1965 I was deployed to South Vietnam and served one year and two days in Phu Loi and then transferred to Saigon. After returning to the states I was stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey for the remaining of my tenure. I was then placed on active reserve status and spent two summers at Fort Mc Arthur near San Pedro, California.

Army, 20+ Years

Serving the 98th ASG and the 235th, 279th, 280th and417th BSBs - Army Community of Excellence.

Served in Vietnam for three years and spent the rest of his military career in Germany.

He also worked 10 years for Central Texas College European Division and at last communication was still working for the US Army.

Our Laton High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Laton High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Laton are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
