Ernest E. Karjala
Class of 1962
Navy, 4 Years
If I told you what I did, I'd have to kill you! ;-) High security job: Top Secret Codeword clearance. I was a Portuguese and Spanish Interpreter. I was supposed to fly missions over Brazil, but got stuck listening to Cubans from our site in Homestead, FL. Extremely valuable and useful training for me, though. I have Cuban and Puerto Rican friends and, for instance, was able to have a nice friendly talk a couple of days ago with a Mexican immigrant who just happened to be at the restaurant I was having lunch in.
