Thomas Apple

Class of 1972

"Thomas Apple, Class 1972, co-invented the logo stockticker display found in New York City's Times Square, and created the concept of the MarketSite. In May 1989 Tom was brought into the NASD as an executive to start the Marketing Planning Group. The initial Nasdaq TV and Radio campaigns was produced by that group, and lead to the development of Nasdaq.com and Nasdaq-online.com by building the initial on-line products. He was instrumental in making a name for Nasdaq, and creating the current stock ticker and the abbreviations used today
He also created the tag line "Nasdaq, the stock market for the next 100 years"
Sadly on July 23, 2009 Tom passed away. "
