It is with great sadness that Richard's family announces his passing on October 4th, after having Alzheimer’s disease for many years. He was born in Germany on May 19, 1946. His parents were Josephine and Chester Adamczewski. He leaves behind wife Doris Ann (nee Racansky), children Jonathan, Kristina and Andrew, and a sister Alicia.
Rich was a graduate of Lane Tech High School, University of Illinois at Chicago and Illinois Institute of Technology. He was in the United States Marine Corp, Reserves. Rich enjoyed running, handball, volleyball, reading, traveling, and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago White Sox. He helped, for many years, on the Friends of the Oak Park Library book sale. Rich was a devout Catholic and an active member of Ascension Catholic Church and St. Bernadine.
A visitation is being held for Richard on Friday, October 21st, 2022 from 5 - 8 PM, with a prayer service to be held at 7 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 West Cermak Road, Forest Park, Illinois 60130. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 at Ascension Catholic Church, 808 South East Avenue, Oak Park, Illinois 60304. Interment will be held privately.
