| About Me | My parents graduation present to me was a month long backpacking trip in the Teton wilderness - that was a challenge! Then I went to A&M, spent the summers working in Minnesota and Idaho doing ecological research. Took about 6 months off of school to try out living in Montana...worked as a dishwasher, sold lift tickets, barely made ends meet; tore my ACL in a skiing accident and went back to A&M to finish up. Despite my desire to be in the mountains, I loved A&M! Got a job up in Oregon, working for the federal government (Bureau of Reclamation) as a hydrologic technician. For 3 1/2 years, I was out in the field most days, collecting water quality samples, taking flow measurements, doing snow surveys...it was a fun job! But I got frustrated because I couldn't move up, so I went to graduate school at Oregon State University for a year. Last summer, I got a great job with a water marketing firm called WestWater Research, and so I've been the reluctant professional - commuting to work and sitting at a desk all day.
