James (Jim) Morrell

Navy, 20+ Years
I enlisted in the Naval Reserve as a Seaman Recruit in 1967. After I graduated from WWSC I attended OCS and was commissioned as an Ensign. After a Viet Nam tour, assignment on 7 ships and Graduate School, I was selected for command of my own ship which I brought to the Daffodil Festival in 1991. I was promoted to Captain and took command of Destroyer Squadron ONE which consisted of 7 Guided Missile Frigates. I retired in 2000 and confine my sea duty to fishing boats!
