Thomas M. Beverly

Class of 1964

During my years at Lake Shore High my service to the school began in the 7th grade when I was elected on the student council. I served as the treasurer for tow dears and was elected to the student council in the 9th grade. In my Junior and senior year I helped organize the Bi-county dance held after the baseball games who contracted with Motown and brought Mary Wells in to sing her records at dances after the game. I was elected Treasure and enjoyed serving and meeting my fellow students. After graduation I pursued a degree in Urban Planning from Michigan State. After graduation I pursued architecture at the University of Detroit and received a Masters of Architecture from The Boston Architecture Collage. This background enabled me to prepare for the position which I currently hold as board member that reviews the legislation affecting the building industry in Virginia. I review and help architects in various professional endeavors as a member of the Hampton Roads Board of the American Institute of Architects. I recently have obtain my NCARB Certification to practice architecture in any state in the United States. It is an attainment that was nurtured by the fellowship and relationships which started at Lakeshore.
