Army, 2 Years
DRAFTED! Kicking and Screaming, volunteered for Medivac, counceled by LBHS alumnisTim Anderson to Hellicopter Pilot, was diverted by Vietnamisation Program, promoted to "Drill Corporal" E-4, within 9 months of induction, as Platoon Leader, was trained and served as Ballistics Meterologist, 4th Infantry Div. Transfered to 101st ABDiv. waiting for orders, OJT'ed as "shit burner" (got the pin) Surveyor, Artillery /Gun Calibrator, Hellicopter incident broken back, tranfered into 101st Div. Tactical Operations Center aka "War Room" as Combat Flight Controller, ironically, a Specialist ranking, telling officers where to go.
Back injury 42 years uncompensated due to systemic fraud within the military and VA. Saddly, the reports about the VA, are to a large extent, true.

In1971, I completed basic training , Security Police training and Canine School at Lackland Air Force Base Tx . In 1972 I was assigned to Westove Air Force Base in Mass. In 1973 I was stationed at Nakorn Phanom Royal Thai Air Force Base, located on the Thai Laos border 235 miles from Hanoi. in 1974 I was assigned to Wurtsmith AFB Michigan.

I spent 20 years in the USCG and retired in 1999. Most of my time was spent in Electronics, IT and Telecommunication systems. I was also involved in Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement and Fisheries patrols. I served in Hawaii, California, Alaska, New York and finally Seattle, where I retired and have lived for 30 Years.
