I was in the ship's Division that fired the big guns on the ship. We,had 5" 54 Caliber guns. We fired 70lb Projectiles (Bullets) with 70 pounds of Black Powder. And could fire them accurately to 16 miles away with full range being about 28 miles. You could say we had a blast!

Tours in Vietnam in 1968-69. Duty stations from Key West to Seattle, from Bath Maine to San Diego, and various places in between. Only part of world not visited was northern Europe.
