Gene graduated from Southwest State University with a degree in Biology, then went to work for his Dad at Bob's Business in Dorset, MN taking over the business in 1982. Gene obtained a Master Mechanic Award from Mercury Marine in 1983. Gene retired in 2005. Gene had two sons and a daughter.
