Update on Stan Pettengill

I graduated from college in 1980 with a Christian Ministries Degree and then worked at another Christian College for six years after that. Called to missions, I joined Youth With A Mission in 1987, was trained in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. I lived there for five years and then moved to Europe (Amsterdam) in 1992.

I first moved there as a musician and traveled from South Africa to Eastern Europe in concerts (also as a part of Youth With A Mission). I recorded a CD Highlands Again, in 1990 and have been in 26 nations since graduating high school.

In 1993 I moved into a ministry called THE CLEFT in the red light district of Amsterdam and worked with a team reaching out to prostitutes, drug addicts and street people. I lived and worked there for five years before ever marrying. I met my (now) wife in Indiana while I was on furlough and we married on July 4, 1998. We traveled for two years while I trained other missionaries in Addiction/trauma/family systems recovery. We then moved back to Amsterdam and I was base Pastor for 80-100 missionaries in Amsterdam for three years and then I took over the Cleft Ministry for 2 1/2 years. All three of our children were born in Amsterdam, the oldest spoke fluent Dutch for her age group at age five in her school.

We moved from Holland to Northern Arizona in October 2007 to work with the Hopi Native Americans. We now live on the reservation and are getting to know our new friends and our oldest daughter j, Isabella, ust graduated k
