Command Sergeant Major Lonny D. Wright entered active duty on 27 June 1977 at Junction City, Oregon and attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Command Sergeant Major Wright’s assignment include: Pathfinder, 501st Avn Bn, 1st AD, Katterbach Germany; Team Leader and Squad Leader, 1/327th Infantry, Fort Campbell, Kentucky and 3/32nd Infantry, 7th ID, Fort Ord, California; Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant, 1st Bn, 30th Infantry, 3rd ID; Squad and Platoon Trainer for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle New Equipment Training Team, Tactics Committee Senior Platoon Trainer and NCOIC of the United States Army Sniper School, 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; Drill Sergeant, 4th Bn, 30th Infantry, Fort Benning, Georgia; Chief Instructor, Fort Benning Drill Sergeant School; Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant, 2nd Bn, 9th Infantry Regiment, Fort Lewis, Washington; First Sergeant, HHC, United States Army Alaska, Fort Greely, Alaska; First Sergeant, Deputy Commandant, and Commandant, US Army Alaska, NCO Academy; Operations Sergeant Major, Ranger Training Brigade, Fort Benning, Georgia; Battalion Command Sergeant Major, 1st Bn, 38th Infantry Regiment, Basic Combat Training Brigade, Fort Benning, Georgia; Battalion Command Sergeant Major, 1st Bn, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st AD, Friedberg, Germany; Command Sergeant Major, Combat Maneuver Training Center Hohenfels, Germany; Command Sergeant Major United States Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia; the United States Army Infantry Center and Instillation Command Sergeant Major, Fort Benning, Georgia; the MNFI-DO (Detainee Operations) and Task Force 134 Command Sergeant Major, Iraq; United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Command Sergeant Major, Biggs Army Airfield, El Paso Texas; CSM Wright is currently retired (2008) and resides in El Paso Tx. With his wife Linda CSM Wright, now Dr. Lonny Wright is currently the PRIDE Ascend and Academic Affairs Director for Pride Industries for whom he has worked since 2008.

Served as Naval Engineer at several Naval Shipyards (attended Naval Post Graduate School; received MS Mechanical Engineering). Served at Pentagon during first Gulf War. Retired 1993 as Lt Commander; received Naval Meritorious Service Medal upon separation.
