Johnston Veterans Parade Float, Saturday, March 31st, 2012
Johnston alumni will have a float, or a Ram truck, in the Texas Tejano Monument Parade which will take place on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 on Congress Ave. in Austin. The parade will begin at 9 or 10 am. The float, or truck, will be dedicated to the 17 Johnston High School veterans who died in action in Vietnam and the additional 17 veterans who died from agent orange which was a result of the war in Vietnam. Donations are needed for the float and persons interested in helping with the float can send an e-mail to larryamaro@yahoo.com. Also needed are girls who can fit into Johnston Cadette uniforms and former cheerleaders who have their old Johnston cheerleader uniforms to lend to girls who can fit into the uniforms to march in the parade.

Johnston/Eastside Memorial 50 Year Anniversary
The Johnston/Eastside Memorial High Schools 50 Year Anniversary is being held on Sat. Oct. 16. There will be a free anniversary celebration from 1-3 pm at the Johnston gym. A dinner/dance will be held at the Onion Creek Ballroom from 6-12 midnight. Ticket prices for the dinner/dance are $25 per person.
The Friday night before the Sat. anniversary celebration, there will be a homecoming game at Nelson field from 7:30 til 10:15 pm.

Johnston Veterans Memorial Ceremony Fri. 5-28-10 @ Johnston
We will have the 3rd Annual Johnston Veterans Memorial Ceremony on Fri. May 28th at 6:00 pm at the Johnston Cafeteria. Please invite all Johnstonites and their friends and families. Veterans are encouraged to come dressed in uniform. Johnston Vietnam veterans are encouraged to bring pictures and mementos of their service years. This event is open to the public.
