Favorite School Memory	I remember this one time at band camp... Oh, wait. That wasn't me.
About Me	After graduating from JCHS, I enrolled at Furman University. Sadly, I was more interested in social activities than in academia. As a result, my parents decided that a more economical alternative was warranted. So, I went to Tennessee Tech (with which I was familiar, having spent four summers of band camp there). <br><br> I graduated from Tech with a degree in English/journalism, and I went back home to become a waiter at Dollywood. When the 1992 season came to an end, I was faced with a moral dilemma: either sign up for unemployment and goof off until the next summer... or go get a job somewhere. I elected to get a job, which I was able to do through various temporary services (including one at UT). <br><br> It wasn't too long before I got a call from the folks at Bechtel, who needed a proofreader. I used the opportunity to show them that I could also write and edit, and soon got hired there full-time -- working in the editorial and public relations areas. <br><br> After about 5 years, work was drying up at Bechtel, so I began looking for gainful employment elsewhere. I wound up at HGTV, working as an associate editor on their website. At present, I'm managing a new Scripps Networks venture: HGTVPro.com -- a site that's geared toward professional builders, contractors and remodelers. <br><br> I'm married to Kim Hansard and recently adopted a son, Eli.<br><br>Oh, and I put the "...(read more)
