I did my basic & advaced training at Ft. Dix, NJ, returned to Jamestown and did 45 days as a recruiters Aide, and then spent the rest of my tour at Ft. Shafter, HI.
While serving, I was a dispatcher in the motor pool, wrecker operator, and VIP driver. I was also on the security team for President Reagan in 1983, when he toured the Hawaiian Islands on his way to China.

US Navy from 1958 to 1961. US Army from 1961 to 1978. Enlisted service till 1966 when I was commissioned a 2nd Lt. I served in various parts of the world including one tour in Vietnam from 1966 to 67 and a second tour as a chopper pilot from 1969 to 1970. Retired at the rank of Major in 1978.

I joined the National Guard when I was a junior in High School, two years into the National Guard I switched to Regular Active Duty Army where I was stationed in Fort Hood, TX for four years. I spent a year in Iraq. Upon completing my Active Duty enlistment I re-enlisted in the National Guards.

Our Jamestown High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Jamestown High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
