About MOUNT HOREB -- Angela M. Davies, 35, of Mount Horeb died at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare facility, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, June 6, 2002 after a very long and difficult battle with cancer.

The former Angela Michelle Christofferson was born on July 2, 1966 in Eau Claire to Connie (Koerner) Keator and Michael Christofferson. She graduated in 1984 from James Madison Memorial High School in Madison and then earned a BA in Home Economics Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She married Steven Davies on June 20, 1987 in the presence of many family and friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Madison. They have a daughter, Amanda Mae, born in 1990, and a son, Peter James, born in 1993.

Angie was a member of St. Ignatius and Holy Redeemer Parishes, where she was very active in the religious education programs. She enjoyed teaching religion to the kids and also coordinated the Holy Redeemer School of Religion for three years.

Since 1988, Angie worked with infants and toddlers at Animal Crackers, Inc. in Madison and Children’s Community School in Mt. Horeb. In 1997, she became a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Verona Area High School where she taught classes to the students in child development, parenting, and other life skills. She had a special relationship with many of her students and co-workers.

Angie loved spending time with children, especially her daughter Amanda and her son Peter. Many people commented on her natural ability to interact with kids and they loved being around her. She worked as a Girl Scout co-leader for the last four years for Mt. Horeb Girl Scout Troop 41.

She is survived by her husband Steve and their children Amanda and Peter of Mt. Horeb, her mother Connie Keator of Madison, her father Mike Christofferson of Eau Claire, her sister Cindy Fleischman and son Justin Simpson of Madison, her grandparents Marvin and Suzanne Koerner of Eau Claire, her uncle and aunt James and Marge Koerner and their son Samuel of Eau Claire, and many special and close relatives in the Davies family and extended Koerner family. A large group of very close friends also share in the loss. She was preceded in death by her stepfather Porter S. Keator.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 9 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mt. Horeb. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, June 10 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mt. Horeb. Burial will be at St. Ignatius Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Ellestad Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th St., Mt. Horeb, 53572 for Angie’s children. Memorials in her name can also be made to HospiceCare or to American Cancer Society for this year’s Relay for Life in Mt. Horeb.
