Doug enlisted into the Army right after graduation as a Helicopter Pilot and was killed in Viet Nam just 2-months into his tour of duty!

Doug was not a helicopter pilot. He was a Spec 5 combat medic that never had a chance to grow old and have children and grandchildren. He was killed in Vietnam in August 1969. The attached photo and death notice is dated August 26, 1969 from the Lansing State Journal. i still remember my father showing his to me as he read the newspaper after he got home from work.
I grew up right around the corner from him and we played together sometimes when we were in grade school.
