Discharged honorably as Specialist 6th Class, specialized in Electronics, communications, and telecommunications. Helped save the from Soviet Style Communism, it just took longer than I thought it would!

USA 1975-85 MSG (RET) - after two CAB*2 was retired from the Army. Senior Instructor in the NCO Academy - several MOS's.

Went to Aircraft Handling (ABH) school in Lakehurst NJ, then stationed in Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico for a few years. Was stationed on the USS Independence CV-62 for a year. Made 1 long cruise to the Med, Suez Canal, Red Sea, Persian Gulf and the Far east. Worked on the flight deck and hangar bay. Great 4 years, left the Navy in June 1985.Honorable Discharge.

Joined Reserves in 1958, junior year. Went active two days after graduation. Sent to electronics school for 36 weeks. Stationed aboard the USS Compass Island, a ship designed to test state-of-the-art (for the 1960's) electronic equipment. Worked on the first and original GPS device (all ground-based, no satellites in the '60s). Participated in Cuban Blockade. Had a wonderful time while in the Navy!

Our Irondequoit High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Irondequoit High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
