| About Me | I've enjoyed two careers--one as a control systems engineer (Altria, Eastman Kodak), the other as a college professor. Since 2014 I've been professor of mechanical engineering at University of Washington. I'm a licensed Professional Engineer with endorsements in chemical and mechanical engineering. I also have an appointment as a visiting professor at Ehime University in Matsuyama, Japan, where I lead an annual study-abroad program on sustainable energy. I've been married for 36 years to a brilliant, lovely woman (OK, she's a Tech grad, but everybody can't be perfect!). We have three beautiful daughters and two grandchildren.
