Michael Earl Holloman, 62, of Chesapeake, passed away on July 4, 2022.
Michael was born on December 30, 1959 to Robert and Alice Holloman in Norfolk, VA. After obtaining his education at Indian River High School, he went on to work with his Uncle Butch in the underground utilities field as a laborer.
After working with family to learn his trade, he worked his way up and got a job as a foreman for multiple companies. He loved it and would end up staying in this field for 30 plus years, rising through the ranks the entire time to retire as a foreman.
Michael was a loving father to 3 children. He always taught us to persevere through anything that happened in our lives and supported us all throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties. When Michael wasn't working, he had a love of fishing. He would love to take his son and grandson with him as much as he was able.
Michael also had a dog, Friendly, that was more than just a pet, but that had truly become family. Anywhere that you saw Michael, you also saw Friendly. His dog had been by his side for 14 years and they shared all of life’s adventures together.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Holloman and by his sister, Teresa Spann. He is survived by his mother Alice Holloman; children Jenifer Holloman and her husband Travis Greer; Darlene N. Harler and her wife Maegan Harler; Robert Holloman and his wife Rebecca Holloman. grandchildren Jacob Holloman (15), Allyson Greer, (14) Mayleeana Dillow (13), Cameron Greer (13), Paislee Harler (4), Robert Holloman Jr (14), Rachel Holloman (9), Ryleigh Holloman (7); grand-niece Faith Spann (7) and his dog, Friendly (14).
No services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel.
