About	Karen Pierce Bailey, 61, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and gammy/mimi went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Norfolk to the late James Edwin Pierce and Ruth Dillon Pierce. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Dillon Pierce; children, Kaitlyn Bailey Copeland (Jason) and Ryne Blake Bailey; grandchildren, Kinsley Nicole Bailey, Luke Pierce Copeland and Hunter Graham Copeland; siblings, Nancy Pierce Ward (Robert) and James Edwin Pierce (Page); nephews, James Dale Ward and Zachary Dillon Ward; aunts, Naomi Dillon Pearce (Ed), Billie Dillon Leigh, Joan Pierce Pearson (Charles), and many cousins and close friends. She was graduate of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia and Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Throughout Karen's career, her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. While working as the Director at Compassionate Care she was able to truly help hundreds of families and form an everlasting bond with those she worked with. She loved her family unconditionally, especially her precious grandbabies. She enjoyed traveling and her favorite trips always included a beautiful beach, sea turtles and her children. She had the most beautiful smile which brought happiness wherever she went. While we will miss her more than words can express, her love will live on in the hearts of all those she loved. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The graveside service will be privately held at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
