| About Me | I'm a UU community minister and clinical social worker whose primary ministry is pastoral psychotherapy, spiritual direction, and urban social justice/education/consulting work. In the spirit of Rev. Joseph Tuckerman, a Unitarian minister from the 19th century, I strive to blend the best elements of social work and ministry by engaging in direct care with an ultimate eye on points of longterm social change. For me, this intersection occurs when society is able to focus on the enduring impact of trauma, particularly the impact of family and community and international violence. My ministry engages in direct pastoral care as well as in teaching/preaching on these linkages in churches and in teaching/research on a graduate level and supporting the work of agencies/programs that address these issues. My joint ministry with my husband, Rev. Clyde Grubbs, is called "Tuckerman Creative Ministries for Justice and Healing" and my private pastoral psychotherapy and coaching practice in Salem, MA is called "Sacred Play Explorations."
