William Schwenker
Class of 1960
Air Force, 11 Years
I was trained as a electronic repairman. My duty stations included bases in Florida, Oklahoma, Japan, Korea, Philippines, New Zealand and Vietnam. While in New Zealand I flew in a C-130 to the Antarctica where it had an accident. I was there 3 days. I've been involved in the Cuban Crisis, Pueblo Crisis in Korea and Was with the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam calling for air support for the unit I was with. I was awarded the Airmans Medal for heroism.

Our Independence High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Independence High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
