Ronald Eugene Turpin, age 48, of Spring Bay passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, in Peoria.
He was born April 5, 1961, in Peoria to Jerry and Eileen (Loser) Turpin.
His mother, Eileen, survives in Chillicothe; along with his one daughter, Erika Turpin of Morton; his grandmother, Jane Loser of Chillicothe; two brothers, Tim (Kathy) Turpin of Peoria and Todd (Beverly) Turpin of Chillicothe; two nephews, Jerry and Ted Turpin; one niece, Bridgette Turpin; and his two beloved labs, Maggie and Sadie.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; and his grandparents, James and Florence Turpin and Richard Loser.
Ron was a devoted cement finisher for the Local 18 Cement Plasterers and Cement Masons union. He was currently employed at P.A. Atherton Construction. Ron previously worked at Thompson Food Basket for numerous years as a produce manager. He managed Get A Long Goose Club in Canton for many years and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He also loved gardening, spending time with his family, watching a good Vikings game, camping and just being outdoors. Ron also loved to raise and train black and tan coon dogs, and more recently Labrador Retrievers.
He was loved very much and will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
