Marine barracks in Beruit Lebannon bombed the week I graduated boot camp at MCRD San Diego, CA. A really sad week on the base and some nervous recruits! Never got to use my training in combat, but was ready if needed, due to a fairly peaceful decade. 18 months after my discharge Desert Storm took place and my unit served in Kuwait City. Guess I was lucky? Semper Fi!
