Enlisted in November '55 and completed basic training at Parks Air Force Base near Livermore in January '56. Completed Bootstrap Education and Commissioning program, graduating from U of Nebraska, Omaha in July '70 and Officers Training School in November. Retired after 31 years, 7 months and 28 days, in May '87. Served overseas in Greenland, Libya, Turkey, Germany and Korea. Stateside assignments in Illinois, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Idaho, Arkansas, and, of course, California. It was a good life.
