Janet was a member of the first graduating class of Howard High School and a long time resident of Clarksville, Maryland.
Janet worked at Tommy Tucker 5 & Dime after high school. She spent time working as a secretary at the federal government Civil Defense Training Center, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton, MD, and Howard Vocational School and APL. She also drove a school bus for Fenton Farms.
After retirement she and Turner purchased property in Baker, WV and built a second home where many weekends were spent with family and friends.
