Born Jan 24, 1946, Margaret Rita Chelton attended Howard High School in Ellicott City, MD.

After graduating from Howard High School in 1964, she immediately went to work for the National Security Agency, (NSA) while also attending college. She retired from NSA after 35 years in 2000.
Rita donated her body to the Maryland Anatomy Board for science and there are no immediate burial plans.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 5805 Main Street, Elkridge, MD on Saturday, July 27, 2024. There will be a visitation with family and friends at 10:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, the Elkridge Food Pantry, Alley Animals, the Howard County Library, Episcopal Relief and Development and the Disabled American Veterans.
