| About Me | Born in Gary, IN, in 1947. Attended Froebel School, Emerson Elementary School, Aetna Elementary School, Emerson High School (Class of 1965), Purdue University (B.A., 1970, M.A., 1973), Brown University (no degree) and the University iof Rhode Islanbd (M.L.S. ,1975). Employed R.I. State Law Library, 1976-2002. State Law Librarian, 1982-2002. President, New England LawPress, 1996-present. A lifelong conservative Republican who loves God, and champions the values of political and economic liberty, limited government, private property, free market capitalism, the entrepreneurial spirit, and the values upon which the United States was founded. Opposes all forms of government-imposed socialism, whether of the economic or social welfare variety, as well as income redistribution, politically correct thought, forced unionization, socialized medicine, government-imposed education, and environmental extremism, particularly as manifested in the current "global warming" hysteria. Regards continued government intervention in the political and economic life of the nation as counterproductive to personal growth and advancement and a threat to freedom and prosperity. The more government does for the people, the less they will do for thmselves, creating an endlessly futile cycle of failure, to the detriment of liberty. Our government is currently in the hands of a party of political panderers whose primary aim is to create a permanent class of panderees dependent upon them for government largesse. This poses a serious threat to our democratic way of life, just as Alexander Fraser Tytler predicted. Fundamentally, our problems are not economic or political, but spiritual. We have only to look at the modern European secular welfate state to to see our own fate if we continue to put government in place of God and substitute bureaucratic intervention in place of our own initiative and sense of personal responsibility. We have a responsibility to help our fellow man, but NOT by goverment fiat. The modern welfare state has disconnectred welfare from any sense of personal and moral responsibility in the recipient. At its core is the blatant desire for political power by a corrupt political party that will willingly sacrifice our liberties for control. Look under the rock of any of our current economic or political problems and you will find misguided government intervention, usually founded upon a desire to pander to one of the constiuent groups of the modern Democratic Party, whether welfare recipients, union bosses,...(read more) |
