About	Charles Oscar Finley, Jr., 74, of Michigan City, passed away peacefully at 11:43 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Franciscan St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City. He was born March 7, 1944, in La Porte, Indiana, to Charles O. Finley Sr. and Shirley (McCartney) Finley. Charles graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1962. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Indiana University in 1967. Charles was a fraternal member of the Phi Delta Theta while attending college. He was the former Vice President of the Oakland Athletics Baseball Team, California. Charles was a Wendy’s Franchisee for 41 years, who formerly owned eighteen Wendy’s restaurants across the region. He received numerous awards from Wendy’s International for his business operations. Charles was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and had a passion for fireworks. On February 4, 1967, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Darlene Carol (Koselke) Finley, who preceded him in death October 11, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Luke Finley; and infant brother, James Finley. Surviving are two daughters, Megan (Jedediah) Smith of Rolling Prairie and Sarah (Rolf) Belden of Jackson, WY; five siblings, Sharon Finley Sweeney of Sarasota, FL, Kathy Finley of Denver, CO, Paul (Kristie) Finley of Princeton, New Jersey, Martin (Mary) Finley of Winamac and David Finley of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren, Brianna, Benjamin and Lylah. A memorial gathering celebrating his life will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Portofino Grill, 3233 N. State Rd. 39 La Porte, Indiana 46350.
