About	Mariellen Dering (née Coyle) passed away peacefully at the Crown Point Christian Village Monday February 19, 2018. She was born April 5, 1935 in Gary, Indiana. Mariellen attended Holy Angles grade school and Horace Mann High School class of 1953. She also attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music. Mariellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Richard Dering; her parents: Henry and Lois Coyle; brothers: Joe, Chuck Coyle; brother-in-law, Thomas Dering. She is survived by her son, Brian (Kathleen) Dering of Merrillville; granddaughter, Amber Schneider, and great grandchildren: Ivan and Sierra Schneider of Manteno, IL; sister-in-law, Nancy (Thomas) Dering; her cousins: Barbara Melo and the Taylor family; Mardilee Kalember; nieces: Cathy, Michelle, and Natalie Coyle; nephew-Patrick Coyle and their families. Mariellen worked for Merrillville Florists and later was the Manager of the Ribordy's Hallmark Store in Merrillville. She was a longtime member of the Methodist Hospital Guild, Beta Gamma Sorority, and the Gary Jaycee Auxiliary, wining numerous awards for her service to the community. She was a parishioner at St Andrews Parish, Merrillville. Mariellen loved entertaining family and a large group of friends and was always the life of the party.
