About	Anne L. Smar (nee Pluth), age 93, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Anne is survived by her son, Timothy (Nelida) Smar and grammy to Tyler, Danielle, Alyssa and Nicole Smar. Also, grammy to Jeffrey, Jonathon and Katey Armstrong. Anne will be missed by many that loved her: Richard Pluth, Claudine (Frank) Dobogai, and Judy Mercer, many dear cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alexander; son, Thomas J. Smar; parents: Matthew and Mary Stayduhar Pluth; siblings: Mary Stayduhar Trinco, Louise Stayduhar Dumenric, Frances Stayduhar Tonello, Helen Stayduhar Pichel and Tom Stayduhar. Anne was a lifelong resident of Gary and Merrillville. She attended Holy Angels Grade School and was a graduate of Horace Mann High School. Anne was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, where she enjoyed many friendships, and she had been active in the Ladies Guild, Helping Hands and ARC's.
