About	Karin H. Muncie, 83, of West Lafayette, Indiana died Thursday January 25, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Northeast hospital in Humble, Texas. A nearly lifelong resident of Indiana, she was born October 29, 1934 in Gary, Indiana to the late Arne and Nancy Edstrom Hellman. Karin graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1952 and received Bachelors and Master’s degrees from Purdue University. On June 14, 1969 she married John Richard Muncie in Lafayette, Indiana. Karin taught English at Tecumseh Junior High School until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a member of the bell choir at her church. Karin was a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity and an avid bridge player. She was a beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Surviving are her brother Karl H. Hellman (Carol) of Portland Oregon, children Gregg J. Howsmon (Debra) of Kingwood, Texas, Lynda S. Buckler (Mike) of Advance, North Carolina, Colleen J. Muncie of New Braunfels, Texas, David J. Muncie (Mary Jo) of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren Adam, Daniel, Matthew and Hanna Howsmon, Libby and Bret Buckler, John Guinn, Nicholas and Madisson Muncie, and a great granddaughter Hadley Howsmon. Karin was preceded in death by her husband John Muncie, a sister Kristin Moore and a granddaughter Laura Howsmon.
