About	Lewis T. Craig Sr., age 74 of Porter, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Valparaiso, IN. He was born on January 19, 1943 in Gary, IN to Arthur and Georgia (Zook) Craig. Lewis is survived by his wife, Carol (Wiggs) Craig of Porter, IN; sons, Lewis “Jay” (Jodi) Craig of Porter, IN, William (Maranda) Horn Jr. and Thomas (Melody) Horn; grandchildren, Jackson and Angel Craig, Amelia and Evelyn Kelly, William Barnabus Horn and D’Anna Benson; brother, Arthur (Beverly) Craig Jr.; sisters, Elaine, Moncena, and Jeanine. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rita. Lewis retired as the Fire Chief of the Town of Porter after 27 years and 45 years in the department. He served in Vietnam with the US Army. In his 45 years with Porter Fire Department, Louie has helped train countless men and women to safely serve our community. The impact he has made will last for generations to come. Louie was involved with the Westchester Auxiliary police starting in 1975 for many years, and Porter police in 1986, for many years. In 1974, he was with NOPAC and was on his first ambulance call for the company. Louie was involved with the Animal Warden from January 1, 1984-1990. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 33 years as a supervisor for the roll shop. He will forever be remembered as a man who treated everyone as if they were family.
