About	Sarah Ann Phillips (nee Haworth) passed away on January 9, 2018 at the age of 89. Sarah was born on October 5, 1928 in Gary Indiana to Clyde and Ardath Haworth. She graduated from Horace Mann High School, attended Lawrence University for two years and then graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in elementary education. After teaching for two years she went to Indiana University to earn her master's degree, which is where she met her husband Beeman. They married on August 23, 1952. In 1956, after the birth of their sons Gregory Charles and Richard Noal, they moved to Austin, Texas where Beeman took a position as an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and where their daughter Kathryn Ann was born. Another daughter, Margery Jeanne, passed away at the age of three weeks. Sarah worked as a supervisor of elementary school teachers for the University of Texas and Southwest Texas State Teacher's college. She had numerous and long-standing volunteer and community activities, including as a docent for the LBJ Library where she presented talks to over 4,000 people; for over twenty years of service, delivering food for Meals on Wheels, and participating in the University Ladies Club, St Martin's Church, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Sarah will always be remembered for her "million-dollar smile", her friendly words to everyone she met, and her warm and generous spirit.
