About	Danyel Katherine Romich, 71, of Portage passed away in Scottsdale, AZ on Thursday, November 2, 2017. She was born in Gary, IN and was a lifelong area resident of Portage. A member of the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, she participated in the Serbian Sisters' Circle and S.S.S. Karageorge Choir. A graduate of Horace Mann High School class of 1966, she then went on to Indiana University and earned a B.S. in Business. She faithfully commuted to Chicago for many years, proudly working at the University of Chicago in the Pathology Lab and then at Chase Bank for 17 years. Tinky was someone who loved her animals dearly and was a dedicated supporter of the NW Indiana Humane Society of Gary, IN. She also loved to travel and oil painting classes. Known to family members as "Tinky," (her father called her Tinkerbell as a child), she spent time with cousins whenever she could. Her parents George and Mildred Romich, and her brother George Romich, preceded her in death. She is survived by numerous cousins who will miss her dearly.
