About	Georgia Kathleen Beckley reunited with her husband and son in Heaven on June 11, 2016, at 90 years old. Georgia was born on August 5th, 1925, to Lytton and Bettye King in Hesseville, Indiana, and was raised on the family farm with siblings Fred, Ike, Gene, and Garnet. Georgia graduated from Horace Mann High School in Gary, Indiana, in 1943, a year after she began corresponding with a Marine named Calvin Beckley. In October of 1945, Cal was honorably discharged and went directly to Georgia, proposed, and married Georgia that December. The couple welcomed their first child, Clifford, a year later on Thanksgiving. In 1955, Cal and Georgia followed their hearts and the sun and moved west to California. The following year, Cal and Georgia were blessed by the birth of their second child, Paula. Georgia had a rewarding life, beginning her career at a jewelry store after high school, then as a clerical worker at Inland Steel, eventually working toward becoming a travel agent, where she became a seasoned globetrotter with a special fondness for the British Isles. Both Georgia and Cal enjoyed being out on the water, and Georgia was First Mate at the Channel Islands Yacht Club. Georgia loved to garden and found great comfort in surrounding herself with her favorite flower, the rose. Beyond these pleasures, Georgia's greatest joy was her family to which she dedicated her life and her love. Georgia valued nothing greater than time spent surrounded by family, reminiscing and sharing stories from her treasured past. Georgia is preceded by her husband Cal, son Clifford, and many friends and family who continue to be missed. She is survived by her daughter Paula; daughter-in-law Deanna; grandchildren Ted (son Kaden), Sean (wife Megan, children Tylie and Tristan), Nikki, and Cody; and her sister Garnet Sherman and numerous nieces and nephews. Georgia's family extends their gratitude to Lina's Guest Home in Oxnard for the exception love and care they gave to our "Grammy."
