About	Richard Curtis, age 89, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016. He is survived by daughters: Linda Cox, Janet Fant, Susan Sullivan, Nancy Cowles, Alice Curtis-Collins and Jennifer Curtis; son, Richard A. Curtis, Jr.; grandchildren: Daniel Cox, Stephen Cox, Jeffrey Cox, Benjamin Moore, Julie Joyner, Jason Curtis, Carrie Faraher, Heather Mosley, Kristin Sullivan, Joshua Sullivan, Shannon Armendariz, Seth Sullivan, Zechariah Reichmann, Jeremiah Reichmann, Elijah Reichmann, Timothy Langley and Elizabeth Langley; great grandfather of 38. Preceded in death by his son, Jeff Curtis. Richard was born on December 8, 1926 in Gary, IN. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1944. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was stationed in Korea. He was also a member of the Army Bugle Corp. Richard graduated from Indiana University in 1950 with a BS in Accountancy. He went on to become an accountant at NIPSCO for 11 years and Treasurer at Swiss Controls, Inc. for 25 years. He was also a member of the Crown Point United Methodist Church, formerly a member of the Griffith UMC, where he sang in the choir for many years. Richard enjoyed music. He played the piano, coronet, and sang Tenor and Baritone. Richard also belonged to the Chorus of the Dunes barbershop choir in the early 1970's. Richard loved his family and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
