Virginia A. Hathaway (nee Henderson), age 91, of Crown Point passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Crown Point.
Virginia is survived by two sons: William (Laura) Hathaway and Richard (Karen) Hathaway; grandchildren: Gina (Joe) Vicari, Victoria Hathaway, James Hathaway and Courtney (Nathan) Chavez; great- grandchildren: Joey, Billy, Tony, Virginia, Marcel and Christian. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; parents: William and Anna Henderson.
Virginia was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Crown Point. She was a beloved kindergarten teacher for many, many years in the Merrillville School System. Virginia was a 1941 graduate of Horace Mann High School in Gary, and graduated from National College of Education in the Chicago area. She enjoyed traveling the world and was an avid bridge player.
