About	Xavier ‘Xie’ Flores, age 69, of Schererville, IN passed away April 1, 2015 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Xie was born on July 9, 1945 to loving parents Jose and Martha Flores in East Chicago, IN. He graduated in 1964 from Horace Mann High School in Gary, IN. Xie enjoyed his high school years and cherished the friendships he maintained all these years. Xie worked for 34 years at Mittal Steel in the Medical Dept. as an X-ray technician. He also worked part-time at St. Catherine's Hospital in the same capacity. He always felt so fortunate to have found jobs he loved and coworkers who became lifelong friends. Xie was an avid golfer. His escapades on the golf course are legendary. The laughter he shared on the course with his friends were some of his fondest memories. Xie also religiously visited flea markets on the weekends; rain or shine. He was never happier than when he got a good $3 box. He is survived by his loving wife Michelle Flores, daughters Nicole (Aaron Robinson) Flores and Brianne Flores; sisters and brother Olga Ponce de Leon, Roland (Linda) Flores and Martha (Robert) Ziomek; mother-in-law Virginia Michalak; brothers and sister-in-law Donna (James LaMontagna)Zisoff, Richard (Todd Rowley) Michalak, Thomas (Patricia) Michalak and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Martha Flores, son Marc Flores, and father-in-law Ted Michalak.
