Von was born on April 3, 1960 in Savannah and raised in Gary, IN. He graduated from Horace Mann High School Class of 1980. He served in the United States Arm Forces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo McDaniel, Brother Billy Ross, Aunt and Uncle Delores and Nathan Johnson. Von is survived by his one son Isiah Dingman, step daughter Ebony Jackson, mother, Ada Martin, step fathers, Bill Ross and James Martin sister Gloria Jones, step sister Sheila Ross, step brothers Clarence Whitehead and Bill Hill, three grandchildren, Isiah, Issac and Donye and a host of other family and friends.
